home in the Philippines

I was browsing through one of my favorite website that I was recently introduced to by a dear friend of mine. Basically, this website offers magnificent deals ranging from clothes, jewelries, trips both local and overseas, furnitures, etcetera.  One of their upcoming event deal included a designer called, Bahay Bags and boy was I intrigued...

Bahay Bags which translates to "home in the Philippines" was founded by Michelle Medeiros, a native from the Philippines who now resides in Hawaii. She used her artistic and marketing idea to bring more to the table of handbags made with straw and the result is phenomenal.

My parents recently took a 3 weeks vacation to the Philippines and one of the "pasalubong" my mother got me was a brown straw tote bag that I used every time I go to the pool. The great thing about owning one of this  fabulous straw bags is that they are very sturdy, eco friendly and very chic. The craftsmanship is to the teeth and the texture offers variety that will make an outfit stand out. Summer is almost over but I will be strutting the streets of Connecticut Avenue with one of Medeiros's Bahay Bags soon.

This post also reminded of a Filipino folk song I used to sing when I was little. Click the link below...
